Preschool
Kristen Whirrett is Ascension's preschool director and teacher of the 3's and 4's classes. Christa Gullidge teaches the preK class. Our teachers are committed to providing a loving, safe, and Christian environment conducive to age appropriate learning through child-initiated and teacher-directed activities. These activities are planned and prepared to educate the child spiritually, intellectually, physically, emotionally, and socially.
A day at Ascension Lutheran Preschool:
We put our coats and book bags on our hooks.
We go to chapel to hear God’s Word.
We sit together and learn the days of the week and months of the year. We count!
We sing, dance, move, laugh, listen, share, shout, whisper, roar like a lion, bark like a dog, fly like a butterfly.
We paint, color, draw, mold, build with blocks, with sticks, with q-tips. We dig in the dirt and sand. We sculpt with shaving cream. We learn as we play.
We thank God for our food and we eat!
We listen to books, we look at books, we touch the books, and we read the books.
We pray, we hug; we smile and say, “See you next time”!
